How Can I Dress Up a Wine Gift?

Andrea Robinson
There are lots of beautiful wine bottle bags out there but they can be expensive. Spend your money on the wine and instead, pick up silver or gold paint pens and personalize each bottle with a greeting. My specialty is to write a simple food pairing for the wine right on the bottle. I use a bit of alliteration to make it festive, for example, on a Chardonnay bottle: “Perfect with Popcorn!” For Sauvignon Blanc I write: “Sings with sushi!” On Rieslings, it’s” “Awesome with Asian fare!” For Pinot Noir it’s: “Super with Salmon” and for Merlot and Cabernet I write: “Marvelous with Mushrooms!”. Or have fun and make up your own combos.

Boy, that is simple and ideal. What about a recipe card with a hole punch tied to the bottle with ribbon, raffia , etc.
